Compton Pool Farm is ideally located for sampling all the delights of wonderful South Devon. The area is unsurpassed for walkers with miles of coastal path close by or for a change of atmosphere the expanse of Dartmoor is less than a half hours drive. The climate of the English Riviera is known for its mild winters and sunny summers.
The River Dart, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Country is a short drive, offering tranquil boat cruises between the towns of Dartmouth and Totnes, both well worth exploring.
There are many National Trust properties locally, the closest, the impressive 14th Century Compton Castle being only 5 minutes walk away.
Many other visitor attractions including Paignton Zoo, Buckfast Abbey, Woodlands Leisure Park, Pennywell Farm and a choice of 2 local Steam Train journeys are but a few examples of the vast choice of places of interest for all ages and interests.
Younger visitors will enjoy some of Britains cleanest, safest and sheltered sandy beaches within 10 to 20 minutes drive or take the Kingswear ferry to access the spectacular beaches of the South Hams including Blackpool Sands.
The nearby towns of Torquay, Paignton, Newton Abbot, Totnes and Dartmouth offer a variety of shopping with a wealth of local produce, Farm Shops and only 10 minutes from large Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury's stores. As well as an excellent selection of Tea Rooms, pubs and restaurants locally, our highly acclaimed local pub/restaurant is a pleasant short walk and is very welcoming to families.
