My partner and I spent a wonderful long weekend at Compton Pool Farm in October. The holiday cottages are set in a beautiful location, nestled in the quiet rural countryside outside Marldon but within walking distance of Torquay and Paignton should you feel the need to wander. The cottages are fully equipped and decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard. There was even a BBQ on the cottage's patio. We stayed in Wray and it was warm, cozy and very comfortable. The on-site facilities are equally outstanding with a superb indoor swimming pool, tennis court and small football pitch for the more active amongst us, with some lovely small lakes inside the grounds to wander around for those just looking for idyllic peace and quiet. There are even goats, chickens, rabbits and pigs for the kids to pet and feed daily (pet food is even provided as part of the welcome pack). Debbie, Paul and Dexter (the new owners) made us feel so welcome on arrival - we were greeted like old friends. We will definitely be going back. Highly recommended!
We’ve just returned from an idyllic and very relaxing break at Compton Pool. We stayed in Wray, and enjoyed an extremely peaceful and comfortable time. The cottage was first class, with more than enough kit for any cook to make use of when not visiting the local restaurants. (We especially enjoyed The Bickley Mill, 10 mins walk away). The beds, linen and towels all add up to comfort, while the setting in rolling countryside lets you unwind and relax. We loved the pool, feeding the animals, exploring the area and just sitting enjoying the view and the peace & quiet. All the properties were occupied but it never felt busy or hectic at all. All in all very civilised and we were very very well cared for. Covid precautions, including washing everything between visitors, were exemplary.
We especially loved the amazing bonus cake when we arrived and the ice cream in the freezer.
We had an excellent stay at Compton Pool Farm. We stayed in Wray which was perfect for our group of 4. The cottage was well equipped and perfectly clean. We even had a home made cake welcoming us on arrival.
All the facilities around the site were a great bonus. The swimming pool was in nice condition and ideal for a relaxing dip after exploring the area.
We will definitely be returning in the future.
