AMBROOK HOLIDAY COTTAGE

We stayed in Ambrook for 4 days in late March 2022. The cottage was immaculate and well equipped, with comfy beds, and the site is beautifully maintained. The cottage has a private terrace overlooking the grounds, and there is plenty of space on site for a wander, including some lovely lakes (safely fenced). The friendly goats, pigs, and rabbits, and the play areas, would be a great draw for small children. The pool was lovely, and a balmy 30 degrees. Good kit in the updated exercise room (cross trainer, treadmill and bench, though have to confess we didn't partake!). The new owners Debbie and Paul are very friendly and welcoming, and are doing lots to make this lovely tranquil site even better. Lovely walks in the area, and the coast is very close (we walked to Paignton and Torquay). Broadsands is a gorgeous local beach (the Venus Cafe has excellent fresh local produce, beautifully prepared). We had lunch at the Michelin-starred Elephant in Torquay - great value lunch menu at £25 for 2 courses, if you want a treat. Bickley Mill is very close (10 minute walk max), as is the picturesque village of Compton (which has a beautiful NT castle). A really relaxing stay, with lots to do in the local area.
